Frequently Asked Questions:

• Where do we meet? All riders will meet at Ukuthula Farm on the Friday morning and both yourselves and your bicycles will be shuttled to the start

• Are e-bikes allowed? Of course, as long as your group is happy with it 

• Can we bring our own drinks? No, drinks can be pre-ordered as a bar tab allowance and paid for when booking your tour (provided legislation allows). They will then be available to you the whole weekend and if anything is left over, you are welcome to take it home with you

• What activities are available? fishing (bass, carp, barbel), tennis, walks, self-driven game drives, hiking, clay pigeon shooting at Oaksprings (additional cost)

• Can we change our accommodation? Accommodation at both Oaksprings and Ukuthula is one large house that everyone will stay at together. Accommodation at Ukuthula can be upgraded to individual units at an additional cost and is subject to availability at the time of the booking

• Does our vehicle have to be 4x4 to get in at Ukuthula? No it doesn't need to be, but roads on the farm are all dirt roads

• Does Ukuthula have any dangerous animals? The wildlife at Ukuthula is all plains game at the moment and is a safe environment to walk and ride in 

• Will there be a support vehicle along the way? Yes, a vehicle will always be on standby, but we encourage you to give it your best! 

• Is the route only along district roads? Absolutely not! We have a good mix of road and single track 

• Do we need to train before the ride? The two days of riding can be challenging to those who don't ride often so we would strongly encourage getting some training in, but it's not a race 

• Does everyone in the group have to ride? No, but as it is a mtb tour we encourage everyone to ride. Should you wish to bring a supporter, you are most welcome to include them as one of your group of 8 or 12, however please note that they will be responsible for driving themselves between accommodation 

• Can I book per person? No, groups are set for 12 people so if you only have 6 riders you will still need to pay for the group of 12. You are welcome to bring supporters along to fill those extra spaces, however they will need to be responsible for their own transportation between venues

• Is my deposit refundable? Unfortunately not. No cancellations or refunds will be processed as the accommodation has to be block-booked for groups. Under serious circumstances, and provided we have enough time, we will allow you to re-book on another weekend, however fees will not be refunded
